We got our new couch Friday morning. It's rather larger than it looked in the store and sort of took over our living room, but it's a bloody awesome couch.( Visuals [link] ) And, had anybody we called had any in stock, we would have gotten a Wii. Best Buy had a demo up for Mario Kart, and it is awesome. I've always been of the opinion that if they could ever get one of those silly racing games where you didn't have to drive with a joystick I could do it, and I was right.

Thursday was the interview portion of the Teacher Fair and I had a few that seemed promising. I'd really love to get in at either Sheridan or Muncie, since I wouldn't have to move. Sheridan was definitely interested and I really couldn't tell about Muncie.

Huntington County seemed interested, and they have positions open. Same for Lafayette and Tippecanoe County. All of those would be ok.

Jefferson County Public Schools also seemed pretty interested; between baby boomers retiring and a new school, they have a lot of openings. The pay is good, the benefits are great, I've done some research and rents are decent, and if they hire me they will pay for the tests I have to take to get my license switched from Indiana to Kentucky.

I also interviewed at my old high school. He seemed really interested, but they don't know yet if they're going to have an opening. One of the social studies teachers is looking for a position elsewhere, but they can't hire to replace him until he officially tells them he's gotten another job, which could be tomorrow or it could be July. Only problem with taking that one would be how close I would be living to my mother. (And that actually makes moving to Louisville very appealing)
